A collection of music manuscript scores by composer and long-time conductor of the National Gallery Orchestra, Richard Bales ( 1915-1998). Mr. Bales studied at the Eastman School of Music and at Tanglewood with Serge Koussevitsky. From 1941 until his retirement in 1985, Bales composed many works that were first performed with the National Gallery Orchestra.
