Prolific Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968) wrote music in virtually every genre. This collection includes operas, ballets, and other dramatic pieces; orchestral compositions; chamber music; choral and vocal works; piano and guitar works. In 1939, the composer fled Italy; he settled in California and started work under contract to several film studios, beginning a successful career as a film composer while continuing to write concert music.
