Susannah Armstrong Coleman (b. 1897; d. 19? ) was known primarily as a pianist, composer and teacher. While working on her Bachelor of Music at Northwestern University, she studied composition with Arne Oldberg and piano with Victor Garwood. During the 1930s and 1940s, Ms. Coleman spent time in residence at the MacDowell Colony; she won numerous awards for her compositions including her "Mother Goose Suite."
