|| About the Collection ||
The career of Norman Luboff (1917-1987) touched virtually all aspects of choral music, as he successfully embraced the roles of composer, arranger, conductor, singer, recording artist, teacher, publisher, and promoter. Through his work in motion pictures, television, recordings, and public appearances, he generated interest in vocal and choral music from professionals and, especially, the general public. The Norman Luboff Choir, and other ensembles he directed, exposed millions of listeners to music ranging from Renaissance polyphony to folk arrangements and popular songs. The collection consists of Luboff’s working music library of choral works and songs, mostly arranged by him. Also included are concert programs, publicity, tour itineraries, and other papers relating to choir tours from 1963 to 1988.
