The Annual Report of the Librarian of
Congress for the Fiscal Year Ending

246-page report covers events such
as the awarding of the inaugural
John W. Kluge Prize for Lifetime Achievement
in the Human Science to Polish philosopher and
historian Leszek Kolakowski, the public opening of
Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun’s papers, and an
exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to end school segregation. The report also includes chapter photographs that illustrate activities in each of the Library’s service units.
