T. Berry Brazelton

T. Berry Brazelton is Clinical Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and founder of the Child Development Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. He is also Professor of Psychiatry and Human Development at Brown University in Providence, R.I. Brazelton has published 26 books on pediatrics and child development. One of his foremost achievements in pediatrics is the creation of the Brazelton Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS), commonly known as the “Brazelton.” NBAS is an evaluation tool used to assess not only the physical and neurological responses of newborns but also their emotional well-being and individual differences. NBAS is used in over 500 research centers in the U.S., 15 in Europe and 10 in Asia.
