Collection Policy Statement Index

The Library of Congress collects the publications of commercial firms on a selective basis. Pending full revision of this statement, the Library will continue to acquire such publications in accordance with the general collections policies applicable to the subject and/or format of the material concerned. The Library will continue to acquire "house organs" and company annual reports in accordance with the following established policies:

I. House organs

The Library of Congress will endeavor to acquire all house organs of aviation companies. The house organs and employee bulletins of other companies will not be acquired except in those rare instances in which a particular publication regularly contains articles of lasting research value.

II. Company annual reports

The annual reports of all companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the American Stock Exchange published since 1955 will be acquired for the permanent collections of the Library of Congress only in microform. This policy does not preclude the acquisition of service copies of these reports in their original form for temporary use.
