Dieter
Grimm was born in 1937 in Kassel, Germany. He has been a Justice of Germany's
Federal Constitutional Court since 1987. He holds a law degree from the
University of Frankfurt as well as a doctoral degree (Dr. iur.) and an
LL.M. from Harvard Law School. After completing his legal education, he
was a research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut für Europäische Rechtsgeschichte
in Frankfurt. Since 1979, he has been professor of public law at the University
of Bielefeld. He is on the faculty of the Global Law School Program, New
York University School of Law and is a member of Academia Europeae.
