ELLEN GRACIE NORTHFLEET

Ellen Gracie Northfleet has been a Federal Judge with the 4^th Regional Federal Court in Brazil since her appointment in 1989. Before that she served as a Federal Attorney and as an Assistant to the Attorney General of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. She also serves as Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos. she plays an active role in the Bar Association and the Lawyers' Institute of Rio Grande do Sul, and has been a Humphrey Fellow at American University, Washington DC and a visiting scholar in the Law Library, Library of Congress.
