Michael J. Trebilcock is Professor of Law and Economics and Director of the Law and Economics Program at the University of Toronto Law School. He has published widely on contract law, international trade regulation, competition policy, and many aspects of regulation and public policy. Professro Trebilcock has served as Visiting Scholar at several major law schools in the United States, most recently as Global Law Professor at New York University Law School (1998). In 1986 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. The Canada Council awarded him the 1998 Molson Prize for contributions to the Social Sciences and Humanities in Canada, and in 1999 he was elected an Honorary Foreign Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The author or co-author of seven books, his most recent publications are as co-author of a treatise on International Trade Regulation and as co-author of The Making of the Mosaic: History of Canadian Immigration Policy, both published in 1999.
