L. BOOMGAARDEN
Mr.
Boomgaarden serves as Preservation Officer for The Ohio State University
Libraries, Columbus, a position he has held since 1984. Prior to his service
at Ohio State, he served in the New York Public Library's preservation
microfilming office; in the Columbia University Libraries' preservation
department; at Minnesota Historical Society's conservation department;
and at Macalester College Library. Mr. Boomgaarden served for several
years as project director of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation
(CIC) Coordinated Preservation Microfilming Projects, a joint preservation
effort of the libraries in the Big Ten and the University of Chicago,
and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. He has written
and lectured widely on many aspects of preservation management, as serves
as an adjunct faculty member for the Kent State University School of Library
and Information Science.
