The
Martha
Graham
Archives
This collection
contains
the complete
manuscript,
photographic,
visual,
and book
collections
of the most
important
American
choreographer
of the 20th
century.
The theater
of Martha
Graham has
been classed
on a level
with other
great visionary
institutions
of the world
such as
the Grand
Kabuki and
the Stanislavsky
Moscow Art
Theater.
It is an
American
treasure
that must
be preserved
and perpetuated.
To that
end, the
Library
has the
opportunity
to acquire
Graham’s
complete
archive
and research
collection.
Materials
include:
choreographic
notes (in
her hand);
correspondence;
costume
and scenic
designs;
musical
scores and
sketches;
photographs;
scripts
for ballets;
100 hours
of Graham
teaching
technique;
and books
used as
creative
sources.
