This
annual
lecture
will
encompass
scholarly
presentations
on
Hebrew
manuscripts
and
printed
books,
as
well
as
on
documentary
and
textual
materials
in
other
Hebraic
languages,
such
as
Yiddish
and
Ladino.
The
scope
of
the
lectures
is
meant
to
reflect
the
wide-ranging
scholarly
interests
of
Myron
M.
Weinstein,
who
served
his
entire
29-year
career
(1955-84)
at
the
Library
in
the
Hebraic
Section,
which
he
headed
from
1980
until
his
retirement
in
1984.
Mr.
Weinstein
died
in
1998.
A
scholar,
linguist,
and
bibliographer
of
note,
Myron
Weinstein
published
well-received
and
influential
articles
on
Hebrew
books
and
manuscripts
in
scholarly
journals
in
the
United
States
and
Israel.
The
inaugural
lecture
is
slated
to
take
place
in
spring
2000.
