David Macaulay

David Macaulay’s early interest in how objects are constructed led to experiments in creating books. He is the creator of the international best-seller The Way Things Work: From Levers to Lasers, Cars to Computers – A Visual Guide to the World of Machines (1988). His books have won the Caldecott Medal and Honor Awards, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and an American Institute of Architects Medal. His most recent book is Mosque (Houghton Mifflin, 2003). He lives with his family in Warren, R.I.
