Pavilion of the States
LEARN ABOUT YOUR LOCAL AUTHORS
& LITERARY EVENTS
If you are interested in reading works by authors from your home state or learning about events that promote reading where you live, then visit the Pavilion of the States. Each state, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories will have a representative on hand to answer your questions about local authors, libraries and the literary heritage that makes your home unique. And if you would like to know about authors from a part of the country other than your own, you can do that here as well.
BECOME A STAMP COLLECTOR
Pick up a copy of the “Discover Great Places Through Reading” brochure. You can collect stamps or stickers from each state, the District of Columbia and territories for your map. Be sure to check the back of your map as well for a selected list of representative books for these places. The Library of Congress and Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (www.cosla.org) collaborated on developing the brochure.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is sponsor of the Pavilion of the States.
