Joseph Bruchac
Native American stories, flute music and traditional lore
Joseph Bruchac shares his extensive knowledge of Native American culture through his poetry, storytelling, music and the more than fifty books he has written. Bruchac was raised and still lives in the foothills of the Adirondacks in New York State. Some of his ancestors belonged to the Abenaki tribe, whose traditional homelands were in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Bruchac plays guitar, Native American flute, Native American drum and sometimes performs with a group consisting of family members. He has taught college courses and is a publisher of multicultural literature.
