The Pan Masters Steel Orchestra

Caribbean steel orchestra music to move your soul and body

The Pan Masters, a ten-member steel drum orchestra, plays calypso, reggae and jazz, as well as rhythm and blues. The orchestra won first place in the 1999 D.C. Carnival Competition for best steel band. Originally Trinidadian and Guyanese, Pan Masters now has members from a number of different nations. The Caribbean steel drums are twentieth-century instruments literally made from steel drum containers that have been modified for musical use.
