Bryan Collier

Bryan Collier

Bryan Collier began creating artwork in his signature style, a combination of collage and watercolor, at the age of fifteen. His paintings have been widely exhibited, and he frequently visits schools and libraries to talk about his books and making art. He received the 2002 Caldecott Honor Award and the 2002 Coretta Scott King Award for his most recent book, Martin's Big Words: The Life of Martin Luther King Jr., written by Doreen Rappaport (Hyperion, 2001). Mr. Collier lives and paints in Harlem, New York.
