Shane W. Evans

Shane W. Evans

Shane W. Evans, a graduate of Syracuse University, is illustrator of a series of children's books featuring basketball greats Shaquille O'Neal and Magic Johnson. He also illustrated Osceola: Memories of a Sharecropper's Daughter by Osceola Mays and Alan Govenar (Hyperion Books for Children, 2000) which received both a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Award and the Orbis Pictus Honor Book Award for nonfiction. His most recent book is No More! Stories and Songs of Slave Resistance written by Doreen Rappaport (Candlewick, 2002). Mr. Evans lives in Missouri.
