Gloria Jean Pinkney
Children's author Gloria Jean Pinkney met her husband, illustrator Jerry Pinkney, while attending high school in Philadelphia. They have collaborated over the years in making quality books for children. Back Home, her first book, is based on memories of a family reunion in her hometown and is illustrated by Jerry Pinkney. Her most recent book, In the Forest of Your Remembrance (Penguin Putnam, 2001), features illustrations by her husband and her sons Brian Pinkney and Myles C. Pinkney. Gloria Jean Pinkney lives with her husband Jerry in Westchester County, New York.
