Author Biography

Judith Martin

Judith Martin

Journalist and novelist Judith Martin worked at The Washington Post for 25 years, covering social events at the White House and the embassies, before becoming a theater and drama critic. In 1978, she created the Miss Manners column now nationally syndicated in newspapers and on the Internet. Ms. Martin has written numerous bestselling books on etiquette and society; the most recent book is Star-Spangled Manners (W.W. Norton, 2002). She lives in Washington, D.C.
