Author Biography

Rosemary Wells

Rosemary Wells

Rosemary Wells began her career as a book designer for a large publishing company and has been writing and illustrating for more than 30 years. Her books feature such characters as Max and Ruby, Noisy Nora and Yoko, and many are inspired by children and animals at home. She is the author of more than 100 books including Emily's First 100 Days of School, Yoko's Paper Cranes, Wingwalker (Hyperion, 2002), and Getting to Know You (HarperCollins, 2002). Ms. Wells has received many awards and citations for her books. She spearheaded a campaign for early literacy nationwide under the name "Read to Your Bunny-the Most Important Twenty Minutes of Your Day." Rosemary Wells lives in Scarborough-on-Hudson, New York.
