Author Biography

Eileen Spinelli

Eileen Spinelli

Award-winning author and poet Eileen Spinelli has been writing since she was six years old. Her poems and stories have appeared in Highlights for Children and other children's magazines. She has written more than thirty books including Sophie's Masterpiece (Simon & Schuster, 2001) and When Mama Comes Home Tonight (Aladdin, 1998). Her awards for writing include the Christopher Award and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Magazine Merit Award for fiction. She lives with her husband, author Jerry Spinelli, in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
