Author Biography

Janet Wong

Janet Wong

Janet Wong, the first-generation American child of Chinese and Korean immigrant parents, practiced corporate and labor law for several years before deciding to write for children and young people. Her most recent books include: Apple Pie Fourth of July (Harcourt, 2002), Knock on Wood (Margaret McElderry Books, 2003), and Minn and Jake (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2003). She is the recipient of the International Reading Association Celebrate Literacy Award and the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Honor Award. She has also been appointed to the Commission on Literature of the National Council of Teachers of English. She lives in Washington state.
