Author Biography

Jim Lehrer

Jim Lehrer

Born in Wichita, Kan., Jim Lehrer moved from a newspaper career to public broadcasting and a long-term journalism partnership with Robert MacNeil in the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, now The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. He is the recipient of the National Humanities Medal, and the George Foster Peabody Broadcast Award. A prolific author, Mr. Lehrer has written two memoirs, three plays, and 14 novels including the most recent, Flying Crows (Random House, 2004). He lives with his wife, writer Kate Lehrer, in Washington, D.C.
