Katherine Paterson

Katherine Paterson

Katherine Paterson has won many prestigious awards for her books for young people including the Newbery Medal, the National Book Award for Children’s Literature, the American Library Association’s Best Books for Young Adults Award and the Children’s Book Council’s Children’s Choice Award. She was also honored with the Hans Christian Anderson Award which is given every two years in recognition of an author’s lifetime contributions to children’s literature. Her earlier well known books include: The Bridge to Terabithia (1977) and Jacob Have I Loved (1980) and her most recent book is Blueberries for the Queen (HarperCollins, 2004). She lives in Barre, Vt.
