David Brooks

David Brooks, who began his career reporting for a wire service in Chicago, has been editor and foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, senior editor at The Weekly Standard and contributing editor at Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly. He writes a biweekly op-ed column for The New York Times and appears regularly on PBS’s “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” and NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Mr. Brooks is the author of Bobos in Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There (2000) and On Paradise Drive: How We Live Now (Simon & Schuster, 2005). He lives in Maryland.
