Jonathan Safran Foer’s debut best-selling novel, Everything Is Illuminated (Houghton Mifflin, 2002) was excerpted in The New Yorker’s annual debut fiction issue, translated into 26 languages, won several literary prizes including the National Jewish Book Award, and is being made into a movie. His most recent novel is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Houghton Mifflin, 2005) for which the film rights have already been acquired. Mr. Foer, who has had stories published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review and Conjunctions, is the editor of two anthologies, and has written a libretto for opera. He lives in New York.
