Chris Madden is a celebrity designer, best-selling author, and television personality. Her television appearances include design correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and host of her own TV show on HGTV for eight seasons. She is the author of 16 books, including  A Room of Her Own: Women’s Personal Spaces (1997), now in its eleventh printing, and her most recent Haven: Finding the Keys to Your Personal Decorating Style (Clarkson Potter, 2004). Her magazine, “At Home with Chris Madden,” illustrates her unique decorating philosophy of the home as a place of sanctuary, comfort and rejuvenation.. She is also designer of a home furnishing line for J. C. Penney. Ms. Madden is the spokesperson for Partnership for the Homeless’ Furnish a Future program, New York City’s only free furniture bank for former homeless families and individuals. She lives in New York.
