Sandra L. Pinkney is the author of several award-winning books illustrated by her husband, Myles Pinkney, including Shades of Black (2000), which won the 2001 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Literary Work. Her most recent book is A Rainbow All Around Me (Scholastic, 2002). Ms. Pinkney lives in Poughkeepsie, New York.
