Marcus Samuelsson is executive chef and co-owner of Restaurant Aquavit, AQ Café at Scandinavia House and Riingo, all in New York. He was the youngest chef ever to twice receive a three-star restaurant review from The New York Times (1995 and 2001). The James Beard Foundation named him Rising Star Chef (1999) and Best Chef, New York City (2003). He has appeared on ABC's “Good Morning America” and various shows on the Food Network, and he is currently starring in his own show, “The Inner Chef,” on the Discovery Home channel. His newest book is The Soul of a New Cuisine: A Discovery of the Foods and Flavors of Africa (Wiley, 2006).
