Amy Pastan is an independent editor and book packager. She was formerly a staff editor at the National Gallery of Art and acquisitions editor at the Smithsonian Institution Press, where she developed volumes on photography and the fine arts. Tom Wiener is a writer-editor in the Publishing Office of the Library of Congress. In addition to “The Forgotten Fifties,” he edited “Mark Twain’s America,” by Harry L. Katz, to be published in October by Little, Brown.
