The first woman to regularly review classical music for The New York Times, Anne Midgette is classical music critic for The Washington Post. After graduating college, Midgette lived in Munich for 11 years, where she reviewed opera, music and art throughout Europe for The Wall Street Journal, Opera News and other publications. Midgette has also co-written two biographies: "The King and I," with Herbert Breslin, about his 36 years managing the tenor Luciano Pavarotti, and her current work, "My Nine Lives: A Memoir of Many Careers in Music" (Doubleday), with pianist Leon Fleisher.
