Library of Congress

National Book Festival

Daniel De Simone, former curator of the Lessing J. Rosenwald Collection of the Library of Congress, came to the Library after 25 years in the rare-book trade, principally as the owner of his own company. He has also edited a number of other publications for the Library of Congress and has written numerous articles on the history of printing and the graphic arts. In October 2013 De Simone was appointed Eric Weinmann Librarian at the Folger Shakespeare Library. His new book is “Christopher Columbus Book of Privileges: 1502, the Claiming of a New World” (Levenger Press in association with the Library of Congress). De Simone will appear with his co-authors, John W. Hessler and Chet Van Duzer, in the Library of Congress pavilion.
