National Book Festival

When Dean Young received the Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, it was noted that “Dean Young’s poems are as entertaining as a three-ring circus and as imaginative as a canvas by Hieronymus Bosch.” Young has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Guggenheim Foundation and a Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University. “Best American Poetry” has been a frequent publisher of his work. Young’s new collection is “Bender: New and Selected Poems” (Copper Canyon Press).
