"The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt," the first in a trilogy about the 26th U.S. president, won both the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award for its author, Edmund Morris. The second in the series was the award winning "Theodore Rex," and the final volume is 2010's "Colonel Roosevelt" (Random House). Morris is also the author of "Beethoven: the Universal Composer" and "Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan." He has written extensively on travel and the arts for such publications as The New Yorker, The New York Times and Harper's Magazine.
