National Book Festival

Gail Tsukiyama has written poetry, short stories and novels that reflect her multicultural upbringing and convey the personal stories of Chinese women. Her most recent book is “A Hundred Flowers” (St. Martin’s Press), the tale of an ordinary family facing extraordinary times at the start of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Her six previous novels include “The Street of a Thousand Blossoms,” “Women of the Silk” and “The Samurai’s Garden.” Tsukiyama is the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Award and the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award.
