National Book Festival

Henry Hodges has spent most of his life on stage or in front of a camera. On Broadway he has appeared in “Beauty and the Beast,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “Mary Poppins.” He has worked in community and regional theaters and done voice-overs for “Snow Buddies” and “Space Buddies.” In his book (with Margaret Engel), “How to Act Like a Kid: Backstage Secrets of a Young Performer” (Disney), Hodges uses his considerable experience to give young readers advice on open calls, auditions, rehearsals, dance and voice classes, child wranglers, studio teachers and how to do homework in green rooms! He will also talk about living a normal life while devoting your time to performing on stage and screen.
