Kia DuPree is a former assistant editor at St. Martin's Press. She received the 2005 Fiction Honor Book Award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association for her debut, self-published novel, "Robbing Peter." Her short story "Lost One" was included in Essence's best-selling anthology, "Hood 2 Hood." In 2010, DuPree published "Damaged," her first book with Grand Central Publishing, to be followed by "Silenced" this October.
