New York Times best-selling author Kimberla Lawson Roby has published 16 novels, including her latest, "Secret Obsession" (Grand Central Publishing). Roby's work deals frankly with issues such as social status, addiction, infidelity, single motherhood, infertility, sibling rivalry and sexual abuse. She is the 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 recipient of the Author of the Year-Female prize presented by the African-American Literary Awards Show. Roby's previous novel, "Love, Honor and Betray," was the eighth novel to explore the life of the Reverend Curtis Black, whose sordid past is no secret to his wife.
