At the 2015 National Book Festival

The Newbery Medal went to Laura Amy Schlitz in 2008 for “Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village.” A librarian who lives in Baltimore, Schlitz is also a professional storyteller. Her other books include “The Bearskinner: A Tale of the Brothers Grimm” “A Drowned Maiden's Hair” and “The Hero Schliemann: The Dreamer Who Dug for Troy.” She has just published “Splendors and Glooms” (Candlewick).
