Margaret Engel is a journalist and playwright who lives in Bethesda. A former Washington Post reporter, she is the co-author of books on baseball and regional food. She and her twin sister wrote "Red Hot Patriot," a play that has had more than 15 U.S. productions, including the Geffen Playhouse, Philadelphia Theatre Company and Arena Stage. She runs the Alicia Patterson Journalism Foundation. Her new book, with Henry Hodges, is “How to Act Like a Kid: Backstage Secrets of a Young Performer” (Disney).
