National Book Festival

Melissa Marr grew up believing in faeries, ghosts and various other creatures. After teaching college literature for a decade, she applied her fascination with folklore to writing. “Wicked Lovely,” her first novel, became a New York Times best-seller, has been translated into 27 languages and received critical praise. Marr said she still believes in fairies and ghosts and now she writes full time. Her new novel is “Carnival of Souls” (HarperCollins).
