Michael Cunningham is the author of the novels "A Home at the End of the World," "Flesh and Blood," "The Hours" (winner of the Pen/Faulkner Award and Pulitzer Prize), “The Snow Queen,” "Specimen Days" and “By Nightfall,” as well as the nonfiction book “Land’s End: A Walk in Provincetown.” "The Hours" became an Academy Award-winning film starring Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep. In 1993 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship and in 1998 a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He lives in New York and teaches creative writing at Yale University. Cunningham's new book, illustrated by the 2016 National Book Festival poster artist Yuko Shimizu, is “A Wild Swan and Other Tales” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux).
