Michael Cunningham is the author of the novels "A Home at the End of the World," "Flesh and Blood," "The Hours" (winner of the Pen/Faulkner Award and Pulitzer Prize) and "Specimen Days." "The Hours" became an Academy Award-winning film starring Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep. In 1993 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship and in 1998 a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He is currently a professor of creative writing at Yale University. Cunningham's new book is "By Nightfall" (Farrar, Straus & Giroux).
