Patricia Reilly Giff, the author of more than 60 books for children, wanted to write from the first time she picked up a book and read as a child. She was a teacher for 20 years before writing her first book. She is the recipient of the Newbery Honor for "Pictures of Hollis Woods" and "Lily's Crossing," which is also a "Boston Globe-Horn Book" Honor Book. "Nory Ryan's Song" was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and an ALA Notable Book. Her most recent book is "Willow Run" (Wendy Lamb/Random House, Sept. 13, 2005). She lives in Connecticut.
