Scott Simon, the host of NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday, has won many major awards in broadcasting including the Peabody Award for Radio Essays. His book, "Home and Away; Memoir of a Fan" (2000), was cited as one of the best books of the year by "The Boston Globe" and "The Washington Post." "Jackie Robinson and the Integration of Baseball" (Turning Points series, John Wiley & Sons, fall 2002) will be published in conjunction with the World Series, 2002.
