The Rev. Wesley Granberg-Michaelson served for 17 years as general secretary of the Reformed Church in America, a Protestant denomination that began in the United States in the 1620s. Previously, Granberg-Michaelson served for six years as director of Church and Society for the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland (1988-1994). In 1984, Granberg-Michaelson completed his theological education at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich. His books include “Unexpected Destinations: An Evangelical Pilgrimage to World Christianity” and, most recently, “From Times Square to Timbuktu: The Post-Christian West Meets the Non-Western Church” (Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing).
