Poet, author, playwright, and producer Shelia P. Moses is the ninth of 10 children raised on Rehobeth Road in Rich Square, North Carolina, where her award-winning The Legend of Buddy Bush (2004) is set. Her newest book, The Baptism (Margaret K. McElderry Books, 2007), is a novel about family life in a small North Carolina town. She is a Coretta Scott King Honor winner and a National Book Award finalist, and her books have been nominated as the American Library Association’s Best Books for Young Adults. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
