Nancy Pearl is a librarian, author, book reviewer, and the model for the Librarian Action Figure. Her books include Book Lust (2003) and Book Crush (Sasquatch, 2007), featuring recommended reading for children and teens. She is the former executive director of the Washington Center for the Book at the Seattle Public Library and is credited with starting the One Book, One Community reading promotion initiative, If All Seattle Read the Same Book, which has spread throughout the U.S. The recipient of the Women’s National Book Association Award, she is a regular commentator on National Public Radio and hosts a television show titled Book Lust on a community channel in Seattle where she lives.
