Meryle Secrest is the Pulitzer Prize-nominated biographer of major artists and art collectors such as Romaine Brooks, Bernard Berenson, Kenneth Clark, Salvador DalĂ­, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Duveen. She has also written biographies of leading figures in American Broadway theater, including Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rodgers, and Stephen Sondheim. Her latest book is Shoot the Widow: Adventures of a Biographer in Search of Her Subject (Random House, 2007). A recipient of the 2006 National Humanities Medal, she lives in Washington, D.C.
